Student Diary in Boston, Aug 15
Today I flew to Boston and it was a very long day. The main event was the flight itself. Although I've always known that Japan and the U.S. are separated by an ocean, I've never really felt the distance until today. It was surreal to arrive in the U.S. on the same day I left Japan - a bit of a shock, really.
Also, today is August 15th, the anniversary of the end of World War II. It feels a little strange to be in the U.S. now, considering that this country was once Japan's enemy. I had just seen some news about the war this morning, which made it even more poignant.
Anyway, the leadership program starts tomorrow. I don't know much about leadership, so I'm a little nervous, but I hope it will be a great experience and that I will have fun.
