Student diary in Boston, Aug 17
When I discussed leadership in my group this afternoon without our group leader, I couldn’t take the initiative to speak up, even in a small group. I realize that I still lack the ability to speak confidently in public. Tomorrow, I want to observe more closely how the group leaders bring the team together.
One thing I can say for sure is that the group leaders always respond and nod when I’m speaking, even though my English isn’t perfect. Because of that, I feel more relaxed and motivated to share my thoughts.
Time has flown by, and tomorrow marks the halfway point of this program. I don’t want to keep putting off taking the initiative. Tomorrow, I’m determined to speak up with confidence and at a volume that everyone can hear.
