Student diary in Boston, Aug 19
In today’s session, our group leader showed us two photos and gave us a task. The photos appeared to depict two different towns, but as we discussed them, we realized they were actually of the same place, taken at different times. This discovery surprised me, and I was struck by how much the town had changed over time. Later, during the science activity, I learned how enjoyable science could be. We played a game where we had to identify the culprit using fingerprints and hair samples. I was the first to find the culprit, so I moved on to try another game. At dinner, I went to a Chinese restaurant, and it made me realize that sharing a meal is one of the best ways to connect with new friends. There were students in the program whom I hadn’t spoken to much before, but by the end of the meal, I felt like I had gotten to know everyone better.
